Mechanical Computer Aided Engineering (MCAELab)

The Laboratory of Mechanical Computer Aided Engineering (MCAELab) is located at the DIME headquarters on Via Opera Pia. It is designed to conduct basic and applied research on mechanical/mechatronic systems and to host experimental activities of an educational nature, including those related to bachelor's or master's theses.

The laboratory's equipment includes various 3D printers (both low-cost and high-end), industrial servo drives, data acquisition and control systems for mechatronic systems (National Instruments Labview and Matlab Real-time tools), linear electric motors (tubular and ironless), dedicated systems for the characterization of materials for additive manufacturing, laser cutting tools for components, small and medium-sized industrial robots, mobile robots, grippers, and gripping devices. There are also experimental setups for studying mechanical transmissions.
