Registration is now open for the 4th edition of the Master's Degree in Safety Management of Transport Networks and Systems, sponsored by the Department of Mechanical, Energy, Management, and Transport Engineering (DIME), in collaboration with the Department of Civil, Chemical, and Environmental Engineering (DICCA).

The Master's Degree is offered in partnership with the Italian Welding Institute (ISS) and under the patronage of the National Agency for the Safety of Railways, Road, and Motorway Infrastructure (ANSFISA).

The paper "Accuracy Evaluation of Flexure Hinges," authored by Simone Serafino, Luca Bruzzone, and Matteo Verotti from the University of Genoa's DIME department, received the Gold Best Research Paper Award at IFIT 2026—the Sixth International Conference of IFToMM ITALY. The award was presented during the conference, held in Foligno (Perugia) from September 9 to 11, 2026. The study analyzes and compares various criteria for evaluating the accuracy of flexure hinges, which are key components in compliant mechanisms for precision applications.

The research team comprising Orazio Sorgonà and Oliviero Giannini from Niccolò Cusano University, along with Luca Bruzzone and Matteo Verotti from the DIME department at the University of Genoa, received the 2026 Compliant Mechanisms Award from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). The award was presented during the International Design Engineering Technical Conferences and Computers and Information in Engineering Conference (IDETC-CIE), held in Houston, Texas, USA, from August 23 to 26, 2026.
