The "Rereading Energy" event, organized by the Energy Engineering and Energy Engineering programs in collaboration with Tirreno Power, took place yesterday at the Savona Campus. Photojournalist Marco Garofalo and engineer Virginia Canazza discussed the global energy transition, prompted by Il Sole 24 Ore journalist Cheo Condina. The video "Energy Portraits" and large-format photographs on the topic were presented. Five classes from high schools in the Savona area, as well as students from the two programs, attended the meeting.

The energy transition requires a drastic reduction in fossil fuels: we must focus on renewables, efficiency, and storage systems. But to ensure energy stability and security, stable sources must be combined with renewables. Among these, nuclear is returning to the center of the debate: in 2022, it was the world's second-largest carbon-free energy source, after hydroelectricity, and the EU has included it among the technologies eligible for the Green Deal.
