2. Project Description

The TOROFU project aims to develop a redesign for the Rotocure machine, used by ARTIGO for the production of rubber flooring, with a view to future electrification of the process or other solutions for its decarbonization.

 

3. Project Objectives

  • Study decarbonization solutions (redesign, modification of process heat generation systems) for the rotocure machine
  • Study solutions for process monitoring and energy diagnosis
  • Study solutions for process smart maintenance
  • UNIGE also contributes to:
    • process energy analysis and proposal/comparison of solutions for its decarbonization
    • Potential integration of energy storage

6. Expected Impacts and Benefits

  • Experimental validation, support for the decarbonization of the ARTIGO process, replicability of the concept in similar process machinery
