Optimal Robust Shape Control for Distributed Parameter Systems

1. Titolo del Progetto
Optimal Robust Shape Control for Distributed Parameter Systems
PRIN
Period: 01/10/2023 – 30/09/2025

2. Project Description
The two main challenges in controlling shape dynamics concern uncertainty and computational tractability. Uncertainty affecting the phenomena that generate the evolution of shapes and mobile interfaces is extremely dangerous, as small perturbations can cause instability even if these perturbations are transient and destined to disappear. This represents a real challenge in the robust design of shape feedback control, i.e., with ISS stability guarantees. The proposed research is at the forefront of control and numerical mathematics and builds on the recent success of the two research units involved (University of Genoa and the National Research Council) in tackling problems at the crossroads of these fields of study.
