Services for MSMEs: support, simulation, decision support

 

The MEDO Energy Management System for Industry node FoFLiguria5.0 offers micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises a software infrastructure of high-value-added services, designed to introduce the benefits of the Energy Manager role for industry, in the form of a software agent, to less structured environments.

This allows for two-level operations:

  • Scenario Analysis: Evaluate the optimal size and technology of new local electricity and thermal generation and storage plants based on the industrial demand profile and electricity and gas supply contracts.
  • Optimal Management: Exploit the potential of existing plants and the flexibility of industrial demand, optimizing energy consumption and the provision of flexibility services, minimizing operating costs and maximizing profits, including integrating storage systems.

 

To do this, users will have access to various system packages:

  • Level 1: Data Acquisition and Market Analysis, allows connection to a continuously updated database of major databases (i.e., ENTSO-E, GME, PV-GIS).
  • Level 2 – Energy System Simulation and Optimization, for the modeling, simulation, and optimization of parameterizable industrial energy systems, for standard configurations that meet the most common needs.
  • Level 3 – Consumption Data Acquisition and Operation Monitoring System, for acquiring field data by connecting to DCS or industrial SCADA systems in factories or by installing specially developed monitoring sensors.

Companies have access to scalable models, modular packages, and design support for tenders, vouchers, and strategic roadmaps. The technologies used are derived from research projects developed within DIME over more than five years.
