Physical and architectural innovation of robotic and automation systems: development and demos
PMAR implements physical and architectural innovation in robotic and automation applications. It offers development and design expertise, particularly for integrating existing technologies with specific elements required by the application environment or tasks. It introduces new architectural elements. It creates even complex demonstrators in a laboratory environment with sensing and data acquisition for performance evaluation; it conducts demos and testing. The researchers involved have design, modeling, and simulation skills and a history of projects carried out in European consortia and with companies, and of transferring their expertise through patents:
- participation in consortia for publicly and privately funded projects
- direct contracting of activities on behalf of companies
- organization of doctoral positions and research grants on specific topics proposed by companies
- laboratory space setups for companies
The laboratory's instrumental facilities include:
- reconfigurable laboratory spaces equipped for the rapid setup of experimental robotic cells
- design, modeling, simulation, and analysis platforms
- instrumentation and equipment for the creation of robotic setups
