Services for MSMEs

The Measurements, Diagnostics, and Ergonomics Node of the FoFLiguria5.0 infrastructure offers highly specialized services to support micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in dynamic characterization, vibration analysis, experimental testing, diagnostics, monitoring, and ergonomic evaluation.

The analysis of complex vibration problems, experimental validation, and prototype characterization are often some of the most time-consuming and critical phases in product development. These activities require advanced instrumentation, dedicated software, and specialized skills that are difficult for many companies to access. Optimal design and planning of experimental campaigns is also essential to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.

Even in diagnostics, defining the most effective solution frequently involves the development and comparison of different strategies, both in terms of sensors and data analysis methods, resulting in increased complexity, time, and costs. Vibration phenomena also significantly impact ergonomic aspects of human-machine interaction, impacting comfort and safety and requiring the development and evaluation of dedicated solutions and devices.

The Node serves as a technology partner for companies lacking dedicated internal resources, adequate equipment, or specialized skills. It offers qualified support in experimentation, test design and planning, product and process sensorization, data analysis, and vibration diagnostics, as well as training, bridging the gap between industrial needs and advanced technologies.

Scientific insights

Services Offered

  • Planning, Experimentation, and Data Analysis

Comprehensive support for experimental campaigns, from defining test objectives and measurement strategies to test execution and analyzing acquired data. The laboratory's experience enables efficient test design and the extraction of reliable and useful information for modeling, diagnostics, and design decisions, reducing development time and costs.

  • Dynamic Characterization and Modeling of Linear and Nonlinear Structures
Analysis of the dynamic behavior of structures subjected to vibration, with the development of representative models useful for predicting responses, optimizing design, and solving vibration problems.
  • Dynamic Characterization and Modeling of Systems
Analysis and modeling of the dynamic behavior of mechanical structures and systems, including linear and nonlinear structures, rotating machines, and bearings. Through modal and vibration analysis techniques, the laboratory supports the understanding of critical phenomena, model validation, and performance optimization, contributing to the prevention of vibration problems and failures.
  • Development of measurement, monitoring, and diagnostic systems
Design and development of measurement systems dedicated to characterization, monitoring, and diagnostics. The service includes defining the measurement architecture, selecting and characterizing sensors, if necessary, and developing data analysis techniques customized to specific application needs (diagnostics, monitoring, etc.).
  • General and specific training courses on sensors, vibrations, and data interpretation
Training activities aimed at company personnel to transfer operational and methodological skills regarding the use of sensors, vibration analysis, and interpretation of experimental results.
  • Ergonomic assessment of human-machine interaction, including in the presence of vibrations, and development of dedicated solutions
Ergonomic analyses aimed at operator comfort and safety, with evaluation of devices and solutions, such as exoskeletons, dedicated to risk reduction and improved working conditions.
