The mission of the TEC - Thermoenergetics and Environmental Conditioning section is the development and dissemination of teaching and research activities in the fields of Industrial Technical Physics (IIND-07/A), Environmental Technical Physics (IIND-07/B) and Nuclear Plants (IIND-07/D), with particular reference to applied energetics and thermodynamics, air conditioning, thermofluid dynamics and heat exchange, acoustics, lighting, thermophysical properties of materials and nuclear technologies also with reference to relevant application developments in the sectors of construction, electrical systems, renewable energy, nuclear plants, electronic components and heat exchangers.

The section boasts numerous collaborations with Italian and international universities and research institutions within various national and international research programs (Horizon, EU Life, EU Erasmus+, etc.).

- The section is a founding member of the Interuniversity Research Center on Sustainable Energy Resource Management, based at the University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli.
- International collaborations: Istanbul Technical University, City University of Tripoli, Toronto Metropolitan University, École Centrale de Lyon, Université Savoie Mont Blanc, Universitat Politècnica de València, Danish Technical University, KTH, American University of Armenia, Maynooth University, University of Coimbra, RC-Rez, etc.
The section has an active multi-year bilateral collaboration program with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) focused on developing research and educational initiatives for energy sustainability. Additionally, it has established a scientific and educational collaboration protocol with Maynooth University (Ireland), Global Hope Network International (Switzerland), UNITAR (Supranational Entity), and the New Energy Industry – Convergence and Open Sharing System (COSS), a consortium involving the following South Korean universities: Kangwon National University, Seoul National University, Hanyang University, Pusan National University, Jeonbuk National University, Kyungnam College of Information & Technology.
Active industrial collaborations aimed at technology transfer include companies such as Ansaldo, Fincantieri, IREN, Duferco, Euroguarco, Pantecnica, Baker Hughes, etc., and national entities such as ISPRA, ARPAL, ARPAT, Liguria Region, Tuscany Region, etc.
