The 9th edition of the IEEE International Workshop on Metrology for the Sea – MetroSea 2025 was held in Genoa from October 8 to 10. https://metrosea.org/

Chaired by Francesco Crenna (UniGE-DIME), Pasquale Daponte (UniSannio), and Giovanni Battista Rossi (UniGE-DIME), the conference welcomed over 130 attendees from 15 countries, presenting . scientific papers by more than 700 authors representing 25 nations.

These steadily growing numbers highlight the scientific community’s strong interest in the conference’s sea-related topics, as well as its appreciation for the opportunity to discuss various aspects of marine measurements—from biology to meteorology, pollution monitoring, and life protection.

The event featured three intense days of technical exchange, lively discussions, and the establishment of new international collaborations.
