Silvano Cincotti (ME 1990, PhD 1994) is professor of Economics and Management at the University of Genoa. In 1992, he was visiting researcher at the Max-Planck-Institut in Mainz, Germany. From 1993 to 1998 he was assistant professor at the University of Cagliari. From 1998 to 2004 he was associate professor at the University of Genoa

Silvano Cincotti is is co-founder and head of the Center for Interdisciplinary Research on Economics and Financial Engineering (CINEF) and co-founder of the Research Center on Organization Science, Economics and Management (DOGE). From 2001 to 2014 he was the Chairperson of the PhD program in Computational Intelligence. From 2008 to 2010 he was Deputy-Dean of the School of Engineering, University of Genoa. From 2011 he is visiting professor of Macroeconomics at the Tianjin University (China). From 2016 he is the Dean of the School of Advanced Studies IANUA-ISSUGE at the University of Genoa.
Silvano Cincotti is the author of more than 180 scientific articles (mostly published on international journals), member of scientific committees and invited speaker of several international conferences and congresses. Since 1991 he served as reviewer to the international scientific community and he presently in the editorial boards of the Journal of Economic Interaction and Coordination, the Evolutionary and Institutional Economics Review and the International Journal of Complexity in Applied Science and Technology.
His scientific activities have been carried on within more than 50 national and international project grants. Silvano Cincotti was Coordinator of the EU IST-FET Strep Project EURACE (2006-2009), partner of the EU NEST-PATHFINDER Strep Project COMPLEXMARKET (2005-2008), member of the steering board of the Italian HUB of the EU-FET Flagship FuturICT and Coordinator of the EU FP7 GSS Project SYMPHONY (2013-16). Silvano Cincotti is member of the AiIG and the ESHIA.
